It must be remembered that India can only be tackled politically and not militarily. The entire Pakistani nation thinks and believes that Kashmir is Pakistani territory occupied by India. I cannot think of a more practical way of countering the Indians politically than by a Pakistani Ostpolitik. The components of the policy will have to be worked out through a confluence of the best minds in this country and the political will to translate it into reality. Whether we like it or not we will have to work on the Indian mind creatively, perceptively, imaginatively but, above all, politically.
