The problem....JDX holds their money mostly in US bond funds (and a couple of foreign bond funds). You are doing the math in the wrong direction...as Canadians we want the dollar to get strong but as JDX share holder we want the Canadian dollar to crash and burn. However we still have gains compared to the exchange rate they used last quarter.

Of course these pennies really won't matter in the end but it is a good way to pass time until the deal is done.
