paul: thanks for your info. i also have a couple of questions. as for new s/w that will be written for MMX chips, can this software be run on reg. pentiums and pent pros as well w/o these multimedia extentions?

and if adequate s/w won't be available for another 6 to 12 mos as u predict, then how could intel see any results from this chip for this year at all?
