John: That is not exactly the way it was. I live in Orlando, and the streets were EMPTY. Everyone knew the restaurants, stores, etc. were closed. There was no regular tv programming, just live 24 hour coverage and a lot of fear being projected through the tube....(yea, overkill to say the least). Anyway, I really don't know how it shakes out, but there were not people driving around at all, and I suspect the numbers who evacuated were less than the numbers of those sitting non-stop on I-4 during normal rush hour. 75,000 travel I-4 alone on a daily basis for their commute, and believe me it is bumper to bumper every am and pm.
That's enough of this; I have no desire to start a debate, just wanted to clarify the facts from someone who lives here.
