You are right, Paul, that is BIG news...and now my question is: can their Natural Gas export suspensions be far behind???? Europe isn't going to make it through this Y2K winter with what they have on hand the way it is.

Usually the crafty Russians shut down exports to hike prices during new contract negotiations. But the price of oil has already more than doubled in the last 10 months, so this customary explanation doesn't make sense! Hell, they should be pumping full bore and raking in the Euros/DM/BP/SF instead of they'd be announcing this Oil Export Suspension at this bump in prices.

And when those Kazakhstani pipelines get 'shut in' due to mechanical shutdown due to embedded chip failures in those big and little valves and the hog pushing through the various products get stuck in the pipelines, then folks will remember you posted this link and wish they'd have paid more attention.
