The following is not written because I perceive myself to be innocent, on the contrary, because I am guilty. Do I think myself superior? Most definately not. In fact I am unworthy to speak His name. By the grace of God , I am what I am. I speak concerning things of the kingdom, my brothers, this naturally excludes nonbelievers. Living for Jesus, are we actually trying to emphasize the control of the Holy Spirit in our lives? When a person belittles, bad mouths, attacks, or in any other way does a put down of another individual in a harsh manner, we have strengthened the hand of satan. There are two types of criticism; mean, harsh and detructive; kind, tender and constructive. Jesus expects from us, if we disagree with one another, to do it in kindness and love. His tenderness to us is obviously shown in His love for us. Does it not behove us to do likewise toward one another. This type of criticism can bring people together and build one up, or as the word is used, edify. Harse, mean criticism separates and tears one down and destroys his personality; could even make him more contrary than before. This forms a mindset in the offended person that is difficult to penetrate. Nothing short of brotherly forgiveness, directed by the Holy Spirit will mend the wound.
Eph 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Eph 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Eph 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Eph 5:1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children Eph 5:2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
The thing that is missing from this thread is the ability for all of us to get together on our knees, hold hands and have a prayer meeting.
To bad this is impossible, it would sure be nice. 1 Cor 5:3 Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit.
We should be of tender heart, and act like God's children.
God speaks to us, are we listening?
Phil 2:1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, Phil 2:2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Phil 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Phil 2:4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Phil 2:5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
God bless us all with self-control and self-discipline.
Rev 19:10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
2 Cor 13:14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
In His service,
David
