uncle, Your points this morning about memory size also made me realize that the cache on the average processor today (at 256K) is 4X larger than the entire amount of system memory in the first 64K machines. I wonder if anyone at that time predicted that eventually all of the memory would be embedded on the chip. If they did, it certainly hasn't hurt the external memory market either. Dave
