Jackson - re: 'If flash can be started in a reasonable time it would be beneficial. " FLASH technology CANNOT be started in an "AMD REASONABLE TIME". Flash requires extensive control of tunneling gate oxides, and in the case of AMD, they use a dual poly stacked gate structure with erasure through a negative bias to the top gate. The interpoly dielectrics are extremely tricky. AMD has built Fab 25 and Fab 30 as LOGIC FABS - and that is what they are stuck with - unless they want to spend about a year re-tooling them for Flash. I'm sure that would make Intel roll over and LAUGH ! Paul
