Hilton Hotels joins race for space on moon

The space race has broken out anew, only this time it involves hotel chains.
Hilton Hotels plans to hold a symposium at its Los Angeles airport location in
December to ask experts about the feasibility of opening a hotel in space or
on the moon. The domestic Hilton operator joins Hilton International, its
London-based ally, which showed similar preliminary interest in a $15 billion
moon base last summer. The process could take 15 to 20 years, but the real
value may be the publicity blast even if a project never makes it off the launch
pad.

Hilton's interests are strictly early stage......
