TechnoPoohbah, you are correct that the 2nd national footprint added by the combination of BAM/Airtouch/GTE is very significant. Remember,they still have large numbers of analogue subs that have yet to switch. Giving them another non-T national choice is very important.

While we're on today's significant announcements, how about nextwave coming up with all those investor bucks? The judge obviously thinks FCC are a bunch of bozo's and congress is getting set to rummage in Kennard's undies. Can you say 3rd national footprint (and likely cdma2000 from the git-go)?

And to top it all off it seems to have escaped everyone that our own little ole LWIN just ordered the first domestic cdma2000 system from the evil empire itself!!!

Who cares about the squiggles. These are important events.
