Gary, They did have an uphill launch. The need to keep the true capabilities of the AThlon hidded to dent Intel more counterstrike time meant they also denied advance looks to many mobo makers. Since many would simply run the data/parts right over to Intel, NDA be dammed, that was a wise decision. As it is the early samples were dogs and Intel dropped it's guard and AMD had an uphill launch.
It is all downhill for the near future and mobos will become more and more available with time as the makers see the chances they are losing.
