Hodges No. 1-X Update... 9/21/99 Declaration of Tight Hole Status It has come to my attention that information being posted about our well is being disseminated among some competitor companies. We have additional interests in the area, and some of the information we will be learning from our well could make some other acreage positions become attractive for acquisition. At this point in time, it is detrimental to CVIA's and investor's interests, for other companies to acquire this information. Therefore, and regrettably, we will not be posting any additional information publicly. Although many have enjoyed the constant stream of reports from location, it is in our best interest to curb the flow of information at this time. I am sorry that this action is necessary, and am hopeful that you can appreciate the reasoning. Best Regards, Rod Copeland
