They will co-exist and compete very effectively with the more traditional firms -- like Walgreens. Although DSCM is an excellent company, I have chosen to bet on PLRX (which will go public early next month). PlanetRx.com has some of THE BEST venture backers in the business. They have successfully incubated firms like Ariba, Cisco, eBay, ephysician, Juniper, Redhat, and Yahoo. PlanetRx.com has a very experienced management team and a smart marketing campaign. They also should see some great benefits from their new arrangement with Express Scripts. Goldman Sachs is the lead underwriter for the PLRX deal and IMO it could perform quite well.
