The other one that amazes me is the lack of attention being given to caching and Bordermanager/ICS. Anyone that is following the products, and the industry space itself, would realize that Novell is positioned very well with BorderManager and ICS. They now have three major computer companies (IBM, Dell, and Compaq) that have licensed the software, and we are just reaching the point that caches are being recognized as a necessity in the Internet.
Caching is being proved by the fanfare that Inktomi is blasting, but also by the installation of huge caching infrastructures by players like Akamai, Sandpiper, InterVU, and even Real. These companies are rolling out hundreds of caches, and if only the analysts started to understand the implications of hierarchical caching and object routing, they would see why the number of potential caches starts to equal the number of installed Cisco routers.
IMHO, The position that Novell has in this space is not being recognized.
