Today was a good day, I doubt few understood the real impact of today's release, sure the institutions did but, I doubt many smaller investors do. Netro was initially only in tywelve markets today's release represents nearly a two fold increase in "penetration" and note the successsful completion of trials with British Telecom is a HUGE techno win for NETRO, they already have won COMSAT and COMCAST and Now British Telecom. Furthermore their are 18 other trials
which should conclude shortly and will undoubtedly represent more equipment sales, please note the each market represents more than one piece of equipment so if 5 base stations have been sold per market/city or more than that represents 7x5x$300,000~10.5Mil in sales just for the seven markets and now if you take 18x5x300K~$27Million in sales revenues...This does not include the 42 broadband markets nor does it include the 49 markets that LWIN plans to allow Lucent to deploy equipment so 42x5x300K + 49x5x300K well...these are only rough guesstimates at what revenues could be..but I say that at least 5 base stations with all the goodies is a tad more than 300K per pop and I'd also wager that each "market" probably requires a few more than 5 set-ups for the widest coverage and costs savings...Yes today's news was Huge and dont let the market performance of the stock today dissuade you...it usually takes about 3 biz days for this type of news to be properly evaluated...ca;lculations must be done and revenue estimates have to be adjusted and so on...these are major design winds and I'd expect that the 6 markets where Netro equipment is being "showcased" will probably fall into line as more sales once the viewers are done...
