Analysts are notoriously behind the curve. By the time the analysts are targeting $200 per share - up from $120 - the stock will have already moved through $175. Similarly as the actual multiple expands to 40x and 50x so will the multiples used by the analysts. They're even willing to ignore multiples altogether if the market is currently doing so (ie the internets). As a result the analysts projections for EPS and P/Es are more a reflection of the markets as they now are as opposed to what they will become.
