Shorting UN-American ? HOGWASH !!!

Many times I have come across postings in which people say that they cannot find it within themselves to short stocks because it seems "un-Amrerican."
What Hogwash !
These individuals need to know where the term SHORT originated from !
Very recently a large American aircraft manufacturer sold a large number of aircraft to a foreign country. Do you really think that
these aircraft had already been built BEFORE the sale was closed ?
Of course not ! It is a common AMERICAN practice to close the sale and only AFTER the fact, manufacture or obtain the material or parts
that the company is actually "SHORT" of !
I work for a Billion dollar Company and often the sales force is
frustrated by the attitude of the CEO, which is; If You want me stock it in your warehouses, you must prove to me first that you can sell it ! So the company is constantly "SHORT" the material.

So you see, the practice of "selling short" is as AMERICAN as Apple Pie.
