Sarkie, KLP, and others shooting the messenger: I don't have time to do nothing all day and just post on SI. When I made the Forbes post, thought I was doing a service but didn't have the issue at my desk. For the record, it is in the 10/4 issue, page 138 in an article by Robert Sherwood....see the tree killing version....not everything is on the net yet. Sherwood is quoting an investment strategist for Morgan Stanley. Overvalued stocks listed in the chart are CNET, Go2Net, Inktomi, RealNetworks and Yahoo. Undervalued listed are Concentric Network, Earthlink, PSINet, USWeb/CKS and Verio. (he seems to favor pipes over portals and content)
As for my motives, why always criticize one who informs the thread of all the info out there? That way we can make informed decisions. Don't censor people presenting information or opposing points of view for that matter......that is what the internet is designed to protect....freedom of expression....not facism, or peer pressure.
In any case, I'm not a poster of non substantiated facts...you now have the article info and can buy the issue.
As for those of you who would like to see more branding, I agree....however it is a balance between spending too much on advertising too early just for the sake of advertising and trying to be one of the few companies with actual earnings (a nice place to be in this market). The ads themselves, however, could be better, IMVHO....the shark is a very tired icon of the net and has found its way into the ads of the rear end of many trade/tech mags. GNET is classier than that for sure.
As for my personal position on the stock (#19 I think), I have been a stockholder since the IPO, VERY long, and maybe will buy the hotel we'll all stay in after the next split in Hawaii :-) lighten up, ok?
Also long in HSAC and visited their NOC today.
