The pressure should also build for AT&T to scrap there TDMA sooner.

I don't know if this does anything to ATT's plans for TDMA vs. CDMA, but it will definitely put a large crimp in their growth. All those who trumpet the massive success of the T OneRate plan((or those who say it was successful because of Nokia phones(ha ha)) will get quite a shock. T has horrible service, and many will vouch for that. The call quality is frightening. A competitor has now emerged, with superior coverage, and superior quality. This will kill Ma Bell's wireless plans and they have no defense. Go ahead--get tri mode, quad mode, hetero, homo, whatever kind of phones you want--there is a better solution. Implement GPRS, EDGE, SIDE, ASS, whichever acronym is the "next best" band aid--there is a better solution, and it is available now. What will Ma Bell do in desparation now? Lower prices? That is their only defense, and that can only last so long.
