<<If GUMM can't make claimes comparable to QGLY's then they will be in deep &%^* From what you've posted they won't be able to claim a "cure for the common cold, right?
That leaves them with a claim of reducing the duration.....ie like QGLY's>>

I am sorry but we do disagree - I think "reduces the duration by 85%" means more to me than "reduces the duration". A cure implies, once infected an infection won't ever return. We know that this is not possible with the common cold based on the number of serotypes. But, to paraphrase Dr. Seidman (academic ENT) on his WXYZ-TV Detroit interview "it is not a cure, but it is about the best thing I have seen for this yet".

I think a lot of people will buy on the basis of comments like that. Just my opinion. .

I disagree about convenience. You argue that you would rather constantly unwrap and suck on unpleasant-tasting (IMO) lozenges that may or may not work only about 1/3 to 1/2 as well. I argue that I would rather take a dose of Zicam intranasally every 4 hours or so for 2 days. I would regard being "coldless" 2 days earlier with Zicam as more convenient than shlepping extra Kleenex and buying more cold-ease, not to mention the symptoms. Just my personal opinion. But, then again, I always liked answering machines for phones, always thought the internet was going to be huge and always thought that people really did not have the right to drink and drive.

Your comment about Zicam not selling itself may not prove to be correct if it performs as well as the first study suggests. Also my opinion.
