3COM will benefit from the PALM IPO because they will sell about 20% to the public and remain as the 80% stockholder. Thus, if the market cap of the PALM company turns out to be a few billion, then COMS shareprice should go up because the "hidden value" of PALM will be realized. Eventually, they will sell most all of the shares to the public.
