(As of 9/19/99) ANALYSTS? CONSENSUS: Buy/Hold
Wall Street analysts currently consider the shares of Parametric Technology a "Buy/Hold." Covered by 10
Wall Street professionals, the weighted consensus ranking or AQO is 0.95. This lies inside the .75 and .999 AQO
range designated for a "Buy/Hold" recommendation. Noticing that the S&P 500 is now reporting the AQO of the
general market at 0.94, these shares are considered likely to maintain a performance close to the broader market.
In both this year and next, Parametric Technology will see earnings grow, according to financial analysts'
estimates. Currently, analysts expect earnings of $0.63 per share in 1999 and earnings of $0.94 per share in 2000.
This represents a rise of 65.8% over last year's earnings of $0.38 per share, and another increase of 49.2% in
2000. Wall Street observers forecast the S&P 500 will show an increase in earnings in 1999 of about 26.67% and
will rise 9.85% in 2000. Considering the growth foreseen for the S&P 500 in conjunction with the forecast,
Parametric Technology's earnings are expected to see a growth rate that is stronger than the rate of growth
anticipated for the broad market in both 1999 and 2000.
Parametric Technology is expected by analysts to record earnings of $0.17 per share in the fourth quarter.
This estimate represents no change from the prior month and indicates that analysts still expect improvement over
the prior year's fourth quarter loss of $-0.17 per share.
Confidence by the investment community in the forecast of earnings for Parametric Technology is very
high. There is a much lower deviation in the consensus estimate for the company than for the market as a whole
and any significant variation of actual results from expectations could have a very adverse effect on the price of
company shares.
