i kinda remember providing you links to various win98 support sites and symantec knowledge base and support sites. but i don't recall ever hearing back what all you found or did not find. seems like there's a lot going on there for you. am i correct in that you are running win98 and have either norton utilities or systemworks installed? the norton products do a lot to provide a more stable system. crashguard should be disabled, however, imo. do you perform regular maintenance (scandisk and defrag) on your machine? dump all cache and temp internet files? :) mark
