Sprint-Samsung Unveil> September 22, 1999 Sprint PCS, Samsung Unveil Dual-Band,CDMA Wireless Phone KANSAS CITY -- Samsung Telecommunications America plans to deliver wireless phones in the next year that use services from Sprint PCS (PCS) in an agreement valued at up to $500 million. In a press release Wednesday, Sprint PCS said the SCH-3500 phones feature Samsung's SCH-dual-band/dual-mode wireless technology and Sprint PCS's voice and data services, allowing users to use e-mail and access the Internet. The dual-band, code division multiple access phones, which Sprint PCS plans to begin shipping this month, have a suggested retail price of $149, the company said. The phones also provide voice-activated dialing, voice mail, caller identification and three-way calling capabilities.
