I agree but the commission dollar is only one reason out of several. Conflict of interest is another and let's not forget fraud and theft perpetrated by brokers or financial advisors which is a growing problem not only in North America but all over the world. I believe the new generation of investors is much more sophisticated and because information is easily available and in many cases free, the broker will become an endangered species.
