Aliant Finalizes Equity Stake In Voice Mobility International

VOICE MOBILITY INTERNATIONAL INC ("VMII-L") ALIANT INC ("AIT-T") - Aliant Finalizes Equity
Stake In Voice Mobility International

Voice Mobility International, Inc., a leader in the development and implementation of unified messaging
solutions, announced it has finalized a previously announced equity arrangement with Aliant Inc.

Under the terms of the agreement, Aliant Inc. acquired approximately 1.4 million shares of Voice Mobility
International, Inc., in exchange for research and development. Pursuant to the agreement, Aliant will
continue to provide ongoing product development and testing and will also participate in the launch and implementation of Voice Mobility's
unified messaging solution.

"This partnership has already been invaluable in terms of critical market research and providing our product development group with the ability
to test our software in one of the most highly sophisticated telecommunications environments in the world," said Jay Hutton, President, Voice
Mobility International, Inc., in announcing the agreement.

"There are few if any unified messaging companies with access to large telecom switches such as the one we have been using at the Aliant
group of companies. I believe this provides our customers with a level of comfort that our products have been adequately tested and scaled
prior to their implementation in the field," he added.

At the same time, Mr. David H. Grinstead, Director, New Business Opportunities - Telecommunications for Aliant Inc. and its affiliate
organizations was appointed to the Voice Mobility International, Inc., Board of Directors. Mr. Grinstead, a veteran telecommunications
executive, has a particular focus on the development of exportable businesses and intellectual property.

"David's demonstrated skills in developing and managing new technologies, combined with his outstanding experience in the
telecommunications industry, will contribute significantly to the success of Voice Mobility," commented Mr. Hutton. "We are pleased to
