Since you didn't answer my question about neuraminidase, I'll assume you have no clue and offer you a brief virology lesson.

Influenza enters the lungs epithelial lining by binding to Hemaglutanine (HA)receptors. Once the flu virus has been taken into the cell via endocytosis, neuraminidase enzymatically disconnects the flu virus from HA so that it can enter the cell and begin replication. If the flu virus is unable to disconnect itself from the HA receptor, the virus is unable to replicate.
