A PCI Slot is a 32-bit slot, and ISA is 8 or 16bit.

Visually, the PCI slot is not as long as an ISA slot, and is white. ISA slots are often dark brown or black. You'll see the connectors on an ISA slot are spaced out more than a PCI one.

Most systems today have 1 AGP, 5 PCI, and 2 or 3 ISA slots. Older models like Pentium MMX's would have 4 PCI, and 3 ISA (on average).
