Was Jesus Black? This is a question that is addressed by a vocal group that demonstrates out here in Venice California. This same group of African-Americans also suggests that they are the "real" Jews. I could be wrong, but this is how I interpret their orations. I have no quarrel with them... that is what makes this country great... first amendment is great. At this point, I don't agree with them and I await more scholarly research. However, I think it is an interesting question. It makes me wonder whenever I look at pictures of Jesus as a white European when he is from the middle east... that should mean that he is at least not white, but much darker skin. It makes me question if the image of Jesus is inaccurate, the purpose it serves and the many, many dilemmas that would arise if the true skin color and facial structure and hair of Jesus is accurately displayed. Just my opinion. Jon :)
