Jim,
I'm really amazed at the negativity on these boards. I'm not an unsofisticated computer user (newbie) but I do prefer the ease of use from AOL, the one-stop shopping aspect. If I want to go out to the internet I can, however, I do find a lot of good content on AOL. I know I could probably find much of this on the net but why take up my valuable time searching.

You say that AOLers are arrogant? Well, I have seen more arrogance here than anywhere else on AOL or the net. It seems you and Duncan beleieve that anyone using AOL is a newbie and/or is getting unknowingly screwed by the company. That just simply is not the case and it seems arrogant to suggest so.

Also, you talked of the AOL image and how they do not pitch in with free service anywhere. Well, again, this is simply not the case. Here in Los Angeles, AOL does give out "free" service to a number of schools. Financially, I sometimes think that's not a good idea; I wish they would get there own house in order first. However, I also realize that the schools out here could not afford it anyway and would most likely just go without. So a bit of humanitarianism is not out of order.

Just thought I'd add my two cents and try and help out Brian (the lone AOL defender and reasonable person) at the same time.
