Qualcomm Unveils New Wireless Technology, Products
NEW ORLEANS -- Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) unveiled new software, wireless telephone, processor, and modem products and technology.
In a press release Wednesday, Qualcomm said it introduced new operational test software for its Thin Phone product, as well as satellite telephones that will operate on Globalstar Telecommmunications Ltd.'s (GSTRF) satellite communications systems.
The company unveiled the Code Division Access satellite portable phone and the GSP-2800 and GSP-2900 Globalstar fixed satellite phones.
In addition, Qualcomm introduced its Mobile Station Modems line of products, which will combine telephony and wireless Internet services.
Separately, Qualcomm said it began shipping samples of its Code Division Multiple Access, or CDMA, chipset and system software products.
In addition, Qualcomm said it signed a smartphone supply agreement with Pele-phone Communications Ltd., an Israeli cellular carrier and CDMA provider.
Qualcomm will provide Pele-phone with its pdQ smartphone for sale and distribution in Israel.
Qualcomm provides digital wireless communication systems and Internet products.
