Re: Technical question/DirecPC NavigatorDialler conflicts with WinNT4.0.

Hi A.J. and All,

I have just installed Hughes DirecPC and have been very happy with the increase in bandwidth provided vis a vis my v.90 modem.

The problem I am having is an apparent software conflict between the Hughes Navigator dialler and WinNT4.0 (Build 1381). The general pattern is that when I start the stand-alone workstation in the morning, the first two times I use the dialler to try to connect to my ISP, Dr. Watson intervenes and closes the dialler. Almost always, the third time is a charm.

I called Hughes technical support and the techie there said that this is a known bug. He recommended that I disable Dr. Watson. I am loathe to do this because I cannot find anything from Microsoft to indicate what the results might be of disabling this anti-virus/debug software.

My question to the thread is whether anyone has seen this behaviour before and if there is a kludge out there for solving this issue.

Thanks in Advance for any reply.

Best, Ray
