As I watch the $yen creep back to its daily
lows I am once again reminded of 1987. Back
then, currencies closed at 1:20 Chicago time.
When turmoil hit the currency close it was
later transmitted to bonds which closed at
2:00pm and then swamped over into SPoos which
closed at 3:00.

While today's trading is not a complete parallel,
nor is it over,I find it noteworthy that the dollar could
not hold its bounce after the European close.

Also interesting is the lack of bounce in equities
after a 225 point downdraft.
