Scot,
The rumor was a French publisher, not Havas, was interested in GTIS, those French are competitive i guess. I can't remeber the the name of the company though.
When you poor your resources into an A title, you are developing the "engine" and the "AI". Look how well they turned out for HG2 and BZ2. The money to do it was put to good use, now they can use the engine for other future games, without the huge costs.
Of course the playing field is going to change again with the next generation 3D cards, i'm sure the company has taken into consideration such thngs as bump mapping T&L,etc.
As far as the cheap games go,ATVI has Head Games, Elsinore, and Expert for those <<g>>,They are cheap to make, distribute, and shovel at the masses. I never played them but somebody is. This company needs to keep the talent they use, Carmack etc, this whole industry is like the movie business, being creative is important.
No suprize here, LOL, Time for Sony and Nintendo to "save face"? The ball is getting bigger as it rolls along, there's some analysts who are going to look stupid and a few other companys in this industry who will use the DC as an excuse for their poor results.
