I have reading this thread for about a month now. I'm long on Zoltek and believe it to have superior long term growth potential. And while I will admit the stock has seen some tough times and it's definitly not a sure thing, I believe people here are being too critical of the company based on rumors.

Pay attention to the facts! These facts are: Zoltek plans to expand from 3.5 million lbs. capacity right now to more than double that by the end of 1997. By the end of '98, they should over 19 million lbs. capacity. By the turn of the century, they should have over 35 million lbs.

Now, let's say that you guys are correct in assuming there is (a.) competition out there, and (b.) the new site in Texas is in fact an empty building. So what? If there's competition, it will simply drive the price lower for now, which will make the price ellasticity of carbon fiber even more evident. And maybe the expansion they plan to accomplish this year will come a quarter late. SO WHAT?

One more thing on that competition thing: Zoltek was the company who set the new price point of $8/lb. in 1995, meaning everyone else hasn't been able to produce carbon fibers at cost as low as theirs.

Think about it. Good luck to all..
