Jeff, I do think it would stand up to an audit. I actually emptied my pantry, dusted it out, and then added up the calories (rounded) in every container as I put it back. I'm not suggesting 32 days of balanced, tasty meals, but enough edible calories to keep going. I also have food in my freezer and food that requires cooking, like pasta and dried beans, which I didn't count because my home is all electric. I really think that most people, unless they're really poor, would find they have more than they think once they got into a survival mind set and focused on calories rather than appetite.
