Sure, the Fabs are designed to resist the earthquake, and they are probably not damaged. However, you need to have electricity, water, chemicals and even good transportation to operate the fabs. Due to this major earthquake and many powerful aftershocks, it will take time for these to be fully recovered. Also, if you have family members or relatives that are still burying under the ruins, can you come back to work at 100% of your capacity. So, there will certainly be some kind of noticeable impact to the world wide chip supply in the next one to two months.
