A stock split is just like taking one cookie and breaking it into two. Same cookie. Same sugar content. Why should it be worth more to a reasonable person?

I have a two year old granddaughter. If I offered her the choice between one whole cookie and two halves of the same cookie, she'd take the two halves. But then, she is only two and thinks that, somehow, two halves is more than one whole.
