I talked to CUBE IR today...

This is the summary:

1) details from Taiwan are still sketchy
2) TSM thinks they will lose 10-15% of Sept. Production.
This 10-15% TSM loss could be composed of 0% CUBE chips, or 100% CUBE chips (this refers to tbe chips which were physically in production at the time of the quake). So basically, it comes down to which 10-15% got screwed up. They don't know yet.
CUBE did find out that TSM had a shipment which was already 'in the truck' and about to ship to CUBE when the quake hit... so this was obviously not messed up. So this is good news.
3) TSM is fine.. just a few broken windows and reduced power supply... no structural damage, which is good
4) Cube Q3 will NOT be affected
5) Cube Q4 MAY (as opposed to WILL)be affected... this will take some time to figure out... i suppose they will know by the time the conference call comes around in 1 month
6) 20% of TSM's chips for CUBE come from a plant they own in North America... I forgot it's name, but call IR if you really care to know. These chips were obviously not affected
7) CUBE IS taking steps to secure additional production from other fabs... (I did not ask which ones)
8) If those chips which were messed up at TSM (the 10-15%) were in fact CUBE chips, TSM may or may not be able to make that up in q4... again, this is only speculation as we don't know which specific chips were screwed up.
9) Last week, CUBE went on a road show to showcase their company, which may account for the increase in stock price which we have witnessed over the past few weeks.

That's about it.

Summary: Perhaps Q4 impact (but NOT for sure), and long term, this is an insignificant event.
