Since none of the high end CPQ products use Intel now, I don't see how this will change the number of intel processors CPQ buys. CPQ is still Intel's largest customer by a fairly wide margin, both in revenue and in units.

DELL has long had a closer relationship with Intel than any other large OEM and that has resulted in very significant benefits in terms of engineering support and other perks. CPQ, despite being Intel's largest customer, has not enjoyed anything like that closeness.

In terms of processor cost, Intel plays pretty much by the book - the more you buy, the lower your price, and likewise the longer the term of a purchasing contract, the better your allocation and price. CPQ has some advantage there but actual processor cost has not been a big factor in the overall cost equation. In any event the differences are probably quite small.
