I never intend anything personal on those boards, and it really does anger me that there are quite a few others using my alias on many of the boards. Since danhof is my real name, just shortened, I would always and do speak with class, never getting trashy or personal other that occasionally challenging one's assertions if I think they are false. I used to work at Microsoft, I recently turned down a good job offer at Netscape, and I used to work at Hewlett Packard too. Now I am an independent computer consultant, I have my own business and I like to trade stocks and options. I am not a Microsoft zealot, as I said, and I would gladly jump on a Novell or Netscape bandwagon if I believed that they were good investments. I have shorted MSFT in the past, and would do so again in the future. But, as a professional in the software industry since 1988, I have watched a lot of really dumb things being done by competitors of Microsoft. And apparently few of them ever learn from their mistakes. I gladly shorted Apple and will watch them die a slow death. Novell in my opinion is in major trouble long term, although short term spikes up are possible, and I will buy themlong if I think a short term run up is imminent. Bottom line, I hope I have never offended anyone here, I never intend to, and I also apologize for any other "danhof"s who may have much less tact or class than the real one. - Dan |
