Ed : as i type the arizona team is whooping the rockies. will put them 9.5 games up with 11 to play for SF. wild card sees them 10 games behind the mets with the same 11 to play. they had their run of victories 2 weeks ago but couldn't gain any ground due to the play of arizona and the other teams in front. SF has NO chance. you can watch espn classic for koufax or drysdale vs McCovey or Mays but you won't be seeing the 1999 edition of the giants playing after the 1st of Oct. if mxam reported what they've been up to lately we might be able to say the same thing about them. throw a blanket over the hat. maybe dale can pull a rabbit out of it. rfb
