qdog - Why was it that certain companies that QCOM licensed, cross license patent with QCOM for more favorable fee's and what were those patents? Undoubtedly other companies have IPR in cellular, and even in CDMA. Some of it is even useful to Qualcomm. BUT (knew that was coming!), having read many of the other CDMA patents I would stake a lot of money (come to think of it, I've already done that<g>)on some of Qualcomm's patents in mobile cellular CDMA being essentially unbypassable, and most other companies' patents being much less critical (read 'much easier/cheaper to bypass if need be'.). Having said that, Ericsson over the last few years has been really rolling out research on some of the next phases of CDMA. This may indeed result in some future IPR swap, but I would still say that Qualcomm has the considerable edge. FWIW, All JMO. Clark
