There is an insurance safety organization that publishes extensive crash test data on the net. the url for mid-size suvs is:
hwysafety.org

when i was car shopping, i actually called them to get an interpretation of their "bumper" data. (cars that do poorly don't necessarily have unsafe bumpers, just expensive ones to fix!)
if you visit the site, check out the "films" segment, where you can actually watch dummies crashing cars into unforgiving walls. kids, don't try this at home...
