"And of course, at the rate gold is discarded in its plated form annually, some 17,000,000+ troy ounces in 1998 last I heard, it won't be too long before someone stakes a claim on a garbage dump and mines the gold out of there.<g>" FYI: Last week there was an announcement in the local news that someone was assaying the sludge in the bottom of the Ottawa River behind the Royal Canadian Mint to see if it was feasible to recover the gold from all the waste that has been dumped there for the last 90 years or so.
