September 14th 1999 LightChip Appoints William Emkey VP of Product Marketing
SALEM, N.H., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- LightChip, Inc., announced today the appointment of William Emkey as Vice President of Product Marketing, reporting to LightChip's President and Chief Executive Officer, Bill Peck.
Bill Emkey joins LightChip after 20 years at AT&T Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies, where he was most recently a Marketing Manager in the Microelectronics Division. In this capacity, Bill was responsible for the global market development and marketing operations for Lucent's optoelectronic products sold into the video/broadband equipment industry. Previously, he was the Technical Manager for the development of linear laser modules and passive optical components.
Bill has been awarded Bell Laboratories' Distinguished Member of Technical Staff award and has an extensive list of publications and patents in the fiber optic arena.

LightChip was formed in September 1997 to develop a new generation of optical networking systems with particular focus on metro and access-level applications.
