Wednesday September 22, 5:32 pm Eastern Time Virtual Tech joins Fairmarket network MINNEAPOLIS, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Virtual Technology Corp., which offers computer hardware and software online, said on Wednesday it was joining the FairMarket Auction Network, a network of electronic commerce Internet sites.
Virtual Technology has exclusive relationships with several computer hardware and software manufacturers that allow it to offer, through auction, a large assortment of both new and refurbished products.
The FairMarket Auction Network, hosted by FairMarket Inc., is an alliance of auction sites connected through a single massive database of goods and services.
Late last week, FairMarket said it would receive investments from Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT - news), ExciteAtHome Corp. (Nasdaq:ATHM - news) and Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch Inc. (Nasdaq:TMCS - news).
``Auctions have proven to be a viable channel for our products and we think the power of this network, along with its considerable reach, can only make it better,' said Craig Levinsohn, vice president of marketing for Virtual Technology.
Shares of Minneapolis-based Virtual Technology were off 1/32 to 2-1/8. |
