BUT...of course we all have. Lucent is probably the second most proficient in the IP realm regarding CDMA, at least the last time I did a search of it. They repeatedly have refuse to weigh in the battle, only saying that they don't care what the standard is. I would agree that what you say is the case and evidenced by the number of references that the QCOM patents use, they probably needed some patents early to get IS-95 accepted.
