Okay, here is my formal request on the RIGHT thread for your opinion on Dr J's statement:

Jacobs insisted, however, that the rest of Qualcomm - its core chip set,
licensing and other businesses - would remain an independent company.

"Within the realm of reasonable possibilities we'll continue to be an
independent company for some time," Jacobs said.

Thanks for any words of wisdom you care to impart. I am curious if I am reading more into it or is it just a statement of ALL possibilities?
