YHOO is the clear winner in the portal field due to its content. AOL has to try hard to compete on this basis alone with YHOO except within AOL, there is a lot of content. MSFT is not an issue. They do not have the expertise for content at least, they have shown they do not thus far.

Glenn--

You'vew sounded a bit anti-MSFT lately (wrt to the Internet efforts anyway). I just want to point out that their msnbc joint site continues to be rated as the most-often-used news site. That's effectively a successful content effort.

YHOO is remarkably savvy IMO, and has been impressively building their business both rapidly and cost-effectively. Their biggest purchases were GeoCities and BCST, and I wonder what kinds of things they plan for broadcast. (I'm guessing) they work and work without a peep of hype, and then let some new feature loose. Who will have the first Internet-only live video show?
